The second summit between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the US (DPRK-US Hanoi Summit) will be held on February 27-28, 2019 in Hanoi.
With its active contribution, especially its effort to create and promote regional and international peace, Vietnam is honoured to be chosen to host the leading international event of public concern.
To welcome this event, the Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has just held a special launching ceremony of “DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit” stamp set in Hanoi.

The stamp set includes one stamp of which the face value is VND4,000 ($0.17), the size is 43 millimetres (mm) x 32mm and one blog which is 222mm x 114mm. The stamp is used in postal network from February 26, 2019 to December 31, 2020 .
Using typical art language and tight colour scheme, the stamp set shows US and DPRK leaders’ hand shaking on the background of Vietnam peaceful and friendly bamboo.
It also depicts the Vietnamese flag and the bird of peace with the line “partnership for sustainable peace” in order to confirm Vietnam’s ability on international events organization as well as Vietnam’s friendliness, hospitality and responsibility towards the global sustainable peace.
Under the stamp is image of Khue Van Pavillion, a symbol of Hanoi capital city where the second DPRK-US summit will take place.
The Khue Van Pavillion, literally the pavilion of the constellation of literature, is located within the city’s Temple of Literature, which is the first university of Vietnam. On November 21, 2012, the pavillion was selected to be the symbol of Hanoi according to the Law on the Capital City by the National Assembly.
With its meaningful language, this small stamp will help getting across the message “Vietnam – Safe and Friendly Destination”; “Hanoi – City of Peace” to international friends and community. It also confirms the role of a UN member country – a responsible and reliable partner of international community in maintaining peace, stability and development.
The “DPRK-US Hanoi Summit” stamp set is designed by artist Nguyen Du and artist To Minh Trang of Vietnam Post.
