TH Group’s formula TOPKID fresh milk hits the market

Locally-owned fresh milk maker TH Group has launched its new fresh sterilised fresh milk products used for kids of one-six years old.

The products, known as TH true MILK – formula TOPKID, are the first type in the Vietnamese, and help improve kids’ health and mentality, according to Vietnam Nutrition Institute.

The products contained all necessary nutritious substances like DHA supporting development of brain, mentality and eyesight; calcium and vitamin D helping strengthen bone system and develop height, while vitamins C, B and acid folic supporting strengthen immunity and nervous system.

“According to our research, these products are very good for Vietnamese kids,” said the institute’s vice head Nguyen Thi Lam.

According to Swiss-based DSM, a world leader in nutritional fortification, a kid’s 3-6 year old period is very important because during which, the kid’s mental and physical conditions developed the most rapidly, especially operations of the brain, and nervous and bone system, which will lay a vital foundation for the kid to develop his mentality and body.

“TH true MILK products with formula TOPKID are produced by state-of-the-art integrated production chains, with natural flavour being kept. The products’ formula has been scientifically analysed in terms of ingredients and content,” said Haeri Roh-Schmidt, director of DSM Nutritional Products’s Business Development and Nutritionals Department.

In addition to TOPKID products, TH true MILK has also developed and will soon market many other types of fresh milk products like cream and yoghurt.

The products are produced by the group’s modern plant in the central province of Nghe An’s Nghia Dan district. This is one of the biggest and most modern dairy cow production plants in the world.

All the processing and packaging chains are monitored by state-of-the-art technologies imported from Siemens, Danfoss and Grundfoss.

The plant is part of a $1.2 billion project which will be wholly disbursed by 2020. About $350 million has been invested for the project’s first stage completed in 2013.

The plant’s first stage has annual capacity of 200,000 tonnes, with the second stage poised to be completed by 2017, with total annual capacity of 500,000 tonnes.

The project will cover 37,000 hectares of land, with the first stage of 8,100ha including farms and material production meadows with mombasa grass, maize and kaoliang.

The project will have 80,000 dairy cows by 2015, which will increase to 137,000 in 2017, when the project will ensure 50 per cent of Vietnam’s needed fresh milk materials. The herd is expected to rise to 203,000 in 2020.

Up to late June of 2014, there were more than 37,000 cows.
