Chief executive officer of the group Philippe Richart made the remark at a working session with the provincial People’s Committee in Dong Nai on Monday.
Currently, Siam City Cement has invested in the Holcim factory in Nhon Trach district. In the future, the firm is consider extending the Holcim plant and building an industrial dry mortar factory and a construction material transfer station in Dong Nai province, Richart added.
Richart also said that Siam City Cement was focusing on the waste treatment sector. At present, the company owns advanced waste treatment technology, especially for fly ash processing.
Vice chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee, Nguyen Quoc Hung, said that the province has been implementing a series of key projects, including the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway which is under construction, the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet and Dau Giay – Da Lat express routes which are in the investment stage and the Long Thanh Airport which is slated for 2019. Therefore, demand for building materials is growing rapidly.
In addition, with more than 26,000 domestic businesses and over 1,000 foreign invested projects operating in the province, a significant amount of waste will need to be treated.
The province hopes to assist enterprises with support and the creation of favourable conditions for investment, especially for projects with high technology content and that are environmentally friendly, Hung affirmed.
