Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the world’s most luxurious automobile brand, last week made its bold step into the Vietnamese market by announcing its official dealer partnership in Hanoi.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has chosen an official dealer in Vietnam

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars first announced its  intention to identify a partnership in Vietnam a year ago, with the aim of opening the door to one of the world’s most attractive new markets. The chosen dealership is with Regal Motor Cars Corporation, and an official showroom is to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year.

“We are very pleased to be moving into Vietnam, a country with huge potential for the brand. In recent years, the country’s economy has risen, creating many successful entrepreneurs. Customers here are very discerning and appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to detail that our pinnacle brand can bring, so we foresee good demand for our Rolls-Royce Bespoke programme here,” said Herfried Hasenoehrl, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars general manager for Emerging Markets – Asia.

The appointment of the authorised importer-dealer in Hanoi is part of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ expansion plan in the Asia-Pacific region outside of China. In Japan, a new showroom in Osaka was recently opened, adding to existing bases in Tokyo and Yokohama.

Recently, a Boutique showroom was opened in a luxury shopping district of Bangkok, Thailand, adding to a double-storey showroom in the city. Taichung in West Taiwan is the new home for a second Rolls-Royce showroom in the Taiwanese market, adding to existing showroom in Taipei. Just last week, the company appointed a dealership in Manila, Philippines.

In Vietnam, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have spotted the potential of the market amid heightened interest from the country’s increasingly wealthy and discerning citizens. Last year, during Hasenoehrl’s visit to Vietnam to seek an official dealer, he estimated there were 80-100 Rolls-Royce cars imported in Vietnam.

Despite the economy’s struggles, the newly-appointed dealer remains optimistic about business opportunities in Vietnam.

Minh Doan, chairman for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Hanoi, said: “We’re extremely proud to be given the opportunity to launch a brand like Rolls-Royce in our country. To drive a Rolls-Royce motor car is the ultimate in luxury motoring, and as a keen motoring enthusiast, I am very excited to be able to bring Phantom, Ghost and Wraith cars to Vietnam.”
