To achieve its global strategy and continuous growth, FPT wants to employ a 30,000-strong information technology (IT) staff by 2020. By the end of 2015, the subsidiary plans to employ 150 software engineers, which is expected to rise to 1,500 by 2020.

At present, FPT Software owns a large IT resource of 8,000 employees, 1,000 of which are present in nine countries over the world.

The Philippines is FPT Software’s first destination in the ASEAN market, as its labour market and administrative climate harbours the potential of becoming a hotbed of software development. Such conditions involve the large number of IT and engineering graduates as well as employees in the Business Processing Outsourcing, Information Technology and Knowledge Processing Outsourcing (BPO-IT-KPO) sector with good command of English, high productivity, efficient support from the government and favourable conditions regarding IT infrastructure.

FPT Software plans to expand its presence to Myanmar in June 2015.

Established in 1988, FPT Software is considered a leading information and communications technology outsourcing provider of the Southeast ASEAN region in general and Vietnam in particular.

In 2014, FPT Software made VND2.9 trillion ($135 million) in revenue, up 35 per cent on-year. In the first four months of 2015 alone its revenue increased by 52 per cent on year to $50 million. The company plans to earn $1 billion in yearly revenue by 2020.
