Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Robert Teulings, managing director of Fusion Resort&A La Carte Samson, said the 1,300 seat international convention centre would be an important factor in attracting Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism.
The centre, together with other facilities, could assist the complex in serving all types of tourism, he added.
Starting construction in May 2014, the project included more than 5 million cu.m of sand, along with enormous quantities of materials, building equipment and trees.
"FLC has mobilised over 100 contractors, around 100 foreign specialists, 1,000 engineers and more than 5,000 labourers in three working shifts per day," said Huong Tran Kieu Dung, the group's deputy general director.
Dung added his group has been trying to bring the entire project into operation this month to assist in developing the province's tourism sector, and to create jobs and contribute to the provinces socio-economic development.
A representative from Serenity Holdings, which has operated resorts and hotels at the project, said Fusion Resort Samson has completed 70 per cent of its villas and welcomed tourists during the recent holiday.
"The villas were booked by the year-end with thousands of tourist arrivals, both inside and outside the country, including MICE tours. We will continue to advertise the tourism and organise cultural, sport and tourism festivals," he said.
Covering an area of 200ha, the complex has an 18-hole golf course, a seven floor hotel and a five-star bungalow with 600 rooms.
The VND5.5 trillion (US$254.6 million) project also boasts the largest salt water swimming pool in Viet Nam, terrace housing and indoor and outdoor entertainment areas.
