Digital advertising merger forms Riverorchid Notch

Indochina-based communications network Riverorchid has merged their digital arm, Riverorchid Digital, with their digital advertising agency Notch to form Riverorchid Notch.

The two sides signed their merger deal and announced the new logo in Ho Chi Minh City on September 18. The new entity will operate across Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.

In Vietnam, Riverorchid has three business lines, with Riverorchid Vietnam and Riverorchid PR exempt from the merger.

Clients of Riverorchid and Notch include such popular names as London-based Arsenal Football Club, Unilever, L'Oreal, Nokia Cambodia, Samsung Vietnam, City Mart, Techcombank and Vinaphone. In addition, Riverorchid also work with ANZ, Citibank, Holcim, and Hoffmann-La Roche.

Tarun Dhawan, managing director of Notch, said in combining the strengths of Notch's presence and client base in Vietnam, with Riverorchid Digital’s existing operations across Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Thailand, the two sides were aiming to build the Notch network embedded within Riverorchid’s communications network.

Shea O'Neill, group head of digital for Riverorchid, said the merger would create synergy for both sides in the five countries.

Both Notch and Riverorchid received titles in the 2012 Asia Pacific Agency of the Year awards. Riverorchid obtained two golds their Creative Agency and Media Agency in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Similarly, Notch received took a silver award for their Vietnam-based Digital Agency.
