CT Group has announced VND7.5 billion ($362,318) will finance education for all orphans of the dead caused by a quarry collapse at central Nghe An province’s Yen Thanh district in early April.

Accordingly, the group will provide the children with financial aids until they graduate from universities. The monthly specific finance will be delivered to those being older than 18 years old and through the custodians of children aged under 18.

The group will monitor the children’s academic results and pledges to create jobs for all graduates at their premises nationwide in the future.

According to local authorities, there are about 55 children whose parents were dead due to the tragedy. The collapse killed at least 18 workers and injured six others. The provincial authorities have offered VND5 million ($239) to each family of the dead and VND3 million ($148) to each injured worker.

Ho Chi Minh City-based CT Group presently has 36 affiliates covering businesses in real estate development, retailing, construction, finance investment, restaurant and entertainment, heath and education, plantation and natural resources exploitation and eco-tourism.
