>> Skyscraper vertical run hits Bitexco Financial Tower
In attendance was Thomas Dold of Germany, Melissa Moon of New Zealand, Double Amputee Runner Dwayne Fernandes, and director of sporting republic David Shin, the organisers of the Bitexco Vertical Run.
Dold, who has won the famed Empire State Building Run Up in New York City six times, on his first time in Vietnam said: “I’m happy to be in Vietnam for the first time. I arrived yesterday and I am feeling quite relaxed.”
Moon, a two-time world mountain running champion, who is the reigning female Vertical World Champion, said: "Of course I cannot say if I can definitely win on Sunday but I'm feeling good and fit.”
Fernandes, a double amputee who participates in stair races around the world on his first impressions of the Bitexco Financial Tower, said "The tower is beautiful. I first saw it when coming in by taxi yesterday from the airport into the city. I’m looking forward to Sunday, meeting all the other participants. I'll try my best on Sunday if the conditions are not too hot."
