Several low-price stocks were quite active on Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange Friday while blue-chips saw a gloomy session.

Ninh Van Bay Real Estate (NVT), which was as low as VND7,500, was among the most active stocks with some 250,000 units traded.

Some other stocks with below-par-value prices were quite active today with 100,000 to 500,000 units changing hands.

IN contrast, blue-chips largely saw a gloomy session today with just some tens of thousands to 100,000 units traded each.

Liquidity remained low at 18.2 million shares, worth VND403 billion ($19.47 million).

Cash flow recently keeps declining on the stock market as inflation fears still looms among investors. According to Au Viet Securities, a report from central bank had showed that deposits in dong in April reduced 1.84 per cent while deposits in strong currencies up 1.46 per cent.

“It proves that people remain concerning about inflation in the future,” said the brokerage firm.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), trading value was still low at VND253 billion ($12.22 million), but major stocks were traded much strongly than those on the main bourse HoSE.

PetroVietnam Northern Gas (PVG) outperformed with more than 2.5 million shares traded, followed by Thai Hoa Vietnam Group (TVH) and VnDirect Securities (VND) with more than one million shares.
