Policymakers, businesses, and experts on December 11 gathered at the National Forum for Development of Digital Technology Businesses 2021 to discuss solutions that will enable digital transformation to be the driving force of economic recovery and development.

Themed "Digital transformation – driving force for economic recovery and development", the forum is a large-scale annual event for digital enterprises in Vietnam.

The third National Forum for Development of Digital Technology Businesses had two main sessions to discuss how digital technology enterprises solve problems in national digital transformation and how they can help industries and sectors recover and develop sustainably during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the forum, participants shared, inspired, and proposed solutions and breakthrough ideas to develop thousands of Vietnamese technology enterprises.

At this year's forum, the Ministry of Information and Communications announced Vietnam's digital transformation goals, and address Vietnam’s problems as well as policies, solutions, and support tools for businesses.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that digital transformation must serve all aspects of life, for the sake of Vietnamese people’s happiness and national prosperity.

Digital transformation is a global matter and serves all people so that it requires a global and a people-oriented approach, he added.

The government leader asked agencies and ministries to complete regulations to solve practical issues to accelerate digital transformation.

He underscored that all sectors and businesses need to raise awareness of digital transformation, speed up the process, and develop human resources in the field.

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said that despite COVID-19, the number of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises and their revenues both grew nearly 10 per cent this year.

In 2021, more "Make in Vietnam" digital products were created, helping to address issues besetting firms and raising Vietnam’s digital technology rankings.

The minister called on digital technology enterprises to develop national digital transformation platforms.

At the forum, Make in Vietnam Awards were presented to Make in Vietnam products designed and created in Vietnam to solve Vietnam’s problems.

The National Forum for Development of Digital Technology Businesses was held for the first time in 2019. It has become an annual large-scale event for Vietnamese digital technology businesses.
