Tuyen Lam expected to be Vietnam’s first national tourist site

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will seek the government’s approval for the recognition of Tuyen Lam Lake tourist site in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong to become the country’s first nationally-graded tourist site.

According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the ministry will submit the procedures related to Tuyen Lam Tourist Site in Da Lat City to the government for consideration soon.

The site started operations in 2004, focusing on sustainable development and green growth. It is also designed to serve big national and international conferences.

To date, more than 10 out of 37 projects in the site have become operational with a total investment capital of VND2.44 trillion (USD116 million). Up to 56 lakes are operated on the lake to serve tourists.

Lam Dong Province has also approved a project to grow 110 hectares of cherry trees and 230 hectares of trees in the site.
