The 10th Overseas Vietnamese Tennis Tournament kicked off on Sunday

The Overseas Vietnamese gathered at the 10th Overseas Vietnamese Tennis Tournament 2018

The annual tournament has been organised by the Committee of Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City. It has created a playground for overseas Vietnamese from different countries who share their love for tennis. The tournament gives overseas Vietnamese players an opportunity to network and meet new people in Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring provinces.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Overseas Vietnamese Tennis Tournament. The contest attracted 40 players from different countries and territories like France, the US, Canada, Belgium, Ukraine, Malaysia, Laos and Thailand, including 10 female players. The tennis tournament consisted of women’s doubles, men’s doubles over 50, and men’s doubles under 50. The award ceremony was held on the same day.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Huynh Thi Lan Phuong, deputy general director of VWS, said, “As a major sponsor, we see that The 10th Overseas Vietnamese Tennis Tournament and the second VWS Cup is a healthy playground for overseas Vietnamese people to compete and contribute to sports campaign in Ho Chi Minh City, especially tennis. This is a chance for overseas Vietnamese to network and exchange information."
