Hoa said she has five children. Every day, she stays at home to take care of them and her mother-in-law, who is seriously ill. Living expenses depend entirely on her husband's meagre income.
Teachers allow them to pay tuition fees in several instalments because the amount is too much for the family. All of the family members are living together in a motel room in Ho Chi Minh City. Despite being disadvantaged, Hoa’s daughter has been an excellent student for many years.
"The scholarship offers both material and spiritual support for our daughter to overcome obstacles in education and life," Hoa shared.

“I am still luckier than many other friends because I have parents. I am very happy to be 1 of 200 students receiving the scholarship "Connecting with Love - Raising Steps to School”, she said.
The scholarship helps alleviate some difficulties for students and their families. "We will try our best to study well and become useful people so as not to disappoint the expectations of teachers, local leaders, and sponsors," she added.
