Success for Gamuda Land at annual MLA awards

Representatives of Gamuda Land honourably receive the prestigious MLA awards

Specifically, Gamuda Land was honoured in the Property Developer Awards category for its three consecutive projects, including the integrated lifestyle township Gamuda Gardens in Hanoi (Vietnam) and two townships in Malaysia, and Kota Kemuning Wetland Park and High Park Sales Gallery.

The award-winning Gamuda Gardens, besides receiving the Vietnam Property Award 2015 for the Best Residential Development in Hanoi, once more showcases the right direction being taken by developer Gamuda Land in designing a signature lifestyle township full of verdant greenery, well-designed landscaping, and a healthy environment for a dynamic community.

Gamuda Gardens’ landscape architecture is based on five core pillars: innovative design, healthy lifestyle, community and amenities, safety and security, and sustainability.

Landscape architecture is the art and design of outdoor public areas, landmarks and structures to achieve environmental, social-behavioural, or aesthetic outcomes. Landscape architecture also combines design with the environment, and art with science. It is about everything outside the front door, both urban and rural, at the interface between people and natural systems.

“Gamuda Gardens honourably won the prestigious award because of thoughtful features from a smart master plan, eco-friendly architecture for sustainability and value-added attributes. At Gamuda Gardens, the lush greenery and public amenities make up more than 60 per cent of the space which benefits all residents,” said Cheong Ho Kuan, general director of Gamuda Land Vietnam.

Cheong added that sustainability was one of the core values to be strategised in the company’s product and project development. Landscape architecture was one of the main factors in sustainable development, which is also part of its community-oriented focus on tackling pressing issues such as global warming and greenhouse emissions.

“A healthy, green living and secure environment is the preferred home of all residents. Emphasis on landscape planning is the key to a sustainable community,” Cheong stated.

The landscape architecture of Gamuda Gardens has been well-designed by Land Sculpture Studio (LSS), an international landscape design company run by a group of Thai designers with a track record of work on various international projects in China, the Middle East, Singapore and Vietnam. LSS also received awards as architect for Celadon City Park and Streetscape Improvement.

Malaysia Landscape Architecture (MLA) Awards is organised annually by the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM) and endorsed by International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA). Founded in 1981, ILAM is Malaysia’s national professional association for landscape architects, representing more than 1,000 members. The philosophy of landscape planning consists of idea and concept, environmental sensibility and affordances to users, culture and community.
