Four industrial exhibitions kicked off today in Hanoi in a bid to boost the growth of Vietnam’s supporting industries.

The Vietnam-Japan Exhibition on Supporting Industries (SIE), Japanese Monozukuri Technology Exhibition, Vietnam Manufacturing Expo, and Industrial Components & Subcontracting Vietnam are being hosted by the Japan External Trade Organisation, Thailand’s Reed Tradex, and the Hanoi Trade Promotion Centre and will run from September 4 to 6.

Tran Tuan Anh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade explained that “the exhibitions are a bridge to connect Vietnamese and international businesses operating in supporting industries and for them to start building or further develop their relationships and co-operation.”

For the 5th annual SIE, nearly 50 Japanese and 50 Vietnamese exhibitors will promote their products, hold meetings and discussions, and generally strengthen their business relationships.

The Monozukuri exhibition will include 45 Japanese companies showing off their hi-tech products, particularly in the field of robotics, and is working with the Executive Committee charged with promoting the two countries’ close relationship for this year’s Vietnam-Japan’s 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Vietnam Manufacturing Expo organised by Thailand’s Reed Tradex features machinery and equipment tailored for industrial production and a participant list of nearly 80 companies from around South East Asia.

The fourth event, Industrial Components and Subcontracting Vietnam, has the Hanoi Municipal Industry and Trade Department and the Japan External Trade Organisation leading their respective sides toward finding partners for the manufacturing of Japanese industrial parts in Vietnam. It will be a rare chance for local producers to access information and form relationships with Japanese businesses.
