From June 7-16, gastronomes can immerse themselves in a dining experience captivating buffet counters, highlighted by a flavourful exploration of authentic Korean cuisine, starring chef Daewon Kim, hailing from South Korea and currently based in Phu Quoc island as Korean Chef de Cuisine at Sheraton Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort.
Discover the best of Seoul through traditional Korean dishes, from savoury broths, barbecue, fried chicken, bibimbap, and kimbap, all adorned with traditional banchan side dishes including kimchi, South Korea’s national dish. Led by Chef Kim, who pours his heart and soul into his generation-old recipes, ‘Straight Outta Seoul’ boasts an extended live Korean food festival station for diners.
Imagine yourself walking through the bustling streets of Seoul, with the enticing aroma of tteokbokki smothered in a rich sauce wafting through the air and making your mouth salivate.
Opt for bibimbap with a kaleidoscope of seasoned pickled vegetables, marinated beef and the signature fried egg that really seals the deal. Satisfying everyone with its interesting combination of textures and flavours, kimbap, the seaweed rice roll with various delicious fillings, is the Korean food to-go. Or try Naengmyeon, Korean cold noodles, which are perfect for the summer in Saigon.
Stephen Wright, executive assistant manager of Food & Beverage at the Sheraton, said, "With the growth of Little Seoul and K-town in Ho Chi Minh City, there is a huge South Korean community with densely packed restaurants around the districts. Food lovers and South Korean expats no longer need to search far and wide for Korean food as their favourite dishes are now available for service during breakfast, lunch and dinner at Saigon Café."
Korean signature dishes from Straight Outta Seoul are available from June 7-16, offered mainly in the lavish seafood buffet dinner and exclusively selected for breakfast and lunch at Saigon Café.
