The award was in acknowledgement of “The New Heart of Ho Chi Minh City” marketing campaign undertaken by Savills Vietnam business for mixed use development The Crescent.
The scheme comprises 300 serviced apartments, 10,000 square metres of office, and 60,000sqm of retail in Ho Chi Minh City.
Savills is the only international real estate services brand out of Asia to have won a global award.
Brett Ashton, managing director of Savills Vietnam, said: “The award was presented just one week after the opening of the Crescent Mall and is fantastic recognition for the team. We are extremely honoured to be recognised as ‘World’s Best’. We have worked with our client for over six years on this impressive development and it is incredible that the efforts of our client and the Savills team are being recognised globally.”
In May 2011, Savills won all four categories entered in the International Property Awards for its Vietnam business and further three Asia Pacific region wide awards. As winner of the regional awards, Savills Vietnam was automatically considered for the global award.
Established 17 years ago, the International Property Awards in association with Bloomberg Television and Google is the world’s most prestigious property competition.
The awards’ programme covers residential as well as commercial categories with regional heats for Arabia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. These have been celebrated at gala presentation events in London, Shanghai and Dubai during the course of the year.
The highest scoring entries from each category in every region are then re-evaluated to establish the winners at international level, culminating in an annual grand final. Judging is carried out through a meticulous process involving a panel of over 60 experts covering every aspect of the property business.
