Ritz Carlton Hotel project breaks ground today

A ground breaking ceremony was held today morning in Ho Chi Minh City for the construction of a trademark twin tower under the partnership of the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company LLC and its Vietnamese partner Bitexco Group.

As the first twin tower in HCMC, the US$500 million twin tower named “The ONE Ho Chi Minh City”, with 48 and 55 storeys, has a total floor area of 195,000 square meters and is planned to be put into operation as an international five star hotel in 2015.

“We have embarked on this journey with one of the world’s leading luxury hotel chains, Ritz Carlton, which will usher new levels of luxurious hospitality in Vietnam,” said Mr. Vu Quang Hoi, Bitexco Group Chairman. “Bitexco believes that in the partnership with the world’s best, top-tier multinational corporations will want to take up office space in The ONE Ho Chi Minh City”.

During the ground breaking ceremony at the heart of the city and located on the southern side of Ben Thanh Square, Bitexco Group CEO In-Suk Ko and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank For Industry and Trade (VietInBank)’s Deputy Director Le Duc Tho approved an agreement to provide financial aid for the project.

The ONE Ho Chi Minh City is considered to be one of the “golden sites” identified by the Vietnamese government’s 2020 Vision program to improve the social, economic and lifestyle conditions of Ho Chi Minh’s population.

The first Ritz Carlton Hotel in Vietnam will provide the most luxurious amenities, services and facilities, aimed at delighting local and international travelers alike.

“I want to make the impossible possible and this is my responsibility to the country”, said chairman Hoi.

The Ritz-Carlton is a brand of luxury hotels and resorts with 77 properties located in major cities and resorts in 25 countries worldwide.
