PVI Insurance, a member of PVI Holdings, has inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Germany’s Talanx Group.

Under the agreement, Talanx committed to transfer its professional techniques and experiences to PVI Insurance, said Jens Wohlthat, spokesman for Talanx member HDI-Gerling. The technique transfer would particularly be done in the reinsurance and non-life insurance fields.

Wohlthat added that his firm would help PVI Insurance extend its business outside Vietnam.

“PVI [Insurance] has officially become a significant link in Talanx services chain,” said PVI Holdings chairman Nguyen Anh Tuan.

The agreement comes in the wake of Talanx acquiring a major stake of 25 per cent worth VND1.92 trillion ($92.8 million) in Vietnam’s biggest non-life insurance firm PVI Holdings.

The acquisition was finished in October after being disclosed in August.
