Old to feel young in Vietnam

Vietnam is to be developed as a tourist destination for Japan’s elderly population.

The Vietnam Tourism Property Association (VnTPA) and Sao Khue Trade & Investment Promotion Company Limited are to organise a trip to Japan for leaders of companies and tourism businesses to promote Vietnam as a tourist destination for the elderly from Japan.

Under the slogan of “Japanese Retirement Resort in Vietnam", the trip, which will last from April 4 to 9, 2011, will bring visitors to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.

Phan Huu Thang, chairman of VnTPA, said: "The trip will bring investors opportunities to visit and learn from experiences of doing businesses in Japanese resorts for the elderly.

Also, they will have chances to communicate with experts in the industry as well as meeting up with partners for business development in Vietnam.”

According to VnTPA, Japan is one of countries with the oldest populations in the world. Retired people in this country have recently tended to settle in foreign countries because they can enjoy high quality services at much lower prices compared to Japan. Meanwhile, Vietnam has been surveyed as one among the top five favourite destinations for Japanese visitors.
