Nam Dinh vows to support RoK investor in power project

The authorities of Nam Dinh northern province pledged to help the Republic of Korea’s Taekwang Vina Industrial Company to solve difficulties and speed up the implementation of its thermo-electric power project in Hai Hau district.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tuan made the affirmation at a working session with Taekwang chief representative Park Hyang Soo on September 6.

According to the provincial leader, the project has seen many favourable conditions as it won the backing of local people and the government’s approval for its purchase of domestic coal.

He suggested Taekwang immediately inform the province about any difficulty so that the two sides can work together to deal with it.

The RoK company submitted a pre-feasibility plan for the project in January this year and hopes to receive a licence by the end of 2012.

The Nam Dinh thermoelectric power plant, with a total investment of $4.5 billion, will be built in Hai Chau and Hai Ninh communes of Hai Hau district. The plant is designed to have four turbine groups with a combined capacity of 2,400 MW.
