The northern bourse ended at 50.96 points, unchanged compared with previous session after strongly fluctuating.
Saigon-Hanoi Bank (SHB) slightly declined and was most active on the HNX with some 2 million shares matched. Meanwhile, other leading tickers like VNDirect (VND), Kim Long Securities (KLS), PetroVietnam Construction (PVX) ended flat or moved sideways after strong fluctuation during the session.
Some small-cap stocks like Nam Viet Bank (NVB), Hoa Binh Mineral (KHB) hit the ceiling, but could not help igniting the bourse.
Put-through transactions were also quite active today, with the value making up 27 per cent total trading value of the northern bourse. Among them, Sacomreal (SRC), Hoa Binh Securities (HBS) saw the largest put-through volumes.
Whereas, matching value fell to new low level, making trading value falling to VND95.3 billion ($4.57 million) today.
HoSE’s VN-Index ended down 1.01 points or 0.27 per cent to 376.89 points today, after 111 stocks declining outrunning 76 advancing.
Large-cap stocks Vincom Group (VIC) significantly fell, while Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI), Sacombank (STB), Kinh Do Corp. (KDC) slightly shedding. Other large-cap tickers Vinamilk (VNM), Military Bank (MBB), Hoa Phat Group (HPG), Gemadept (GMD) gained thanks to the buying of foreigners, but could not help the bourse.
Some small-cap and mid-cap still rose thanks to speculative cash, among them Hoang Quan Consulting-Trading-Service Real Estate Corp. (HQC), Duc Long Gia Lai (DLG), Bibica (BBC). Some mineral stocks like Bac Giang Exploitable Mineral kept rising.
Put-through transactions were also quite active on HoSE today, with Kinh Do Corp. (KDC)’s put-through volume amounted to 2.5 million shares. The stock were negotiated at VND42,000 per share, compared with matching price of VND39,000.
Put-through value reached VND137 billion ($6.6 million), helping liquidity of the southern bourse reaching 18.7 million shares worth VND300 billion ($14.4 million).
Foreigners’ buying increased amidst the market’s decline. They had net buying of VND7.76 billion ($373,000) today.
