These modest figures show a fall in sale by businesses in the capital due to shrinking markets overseas such as the EU, Japan and the US.
In the first four months of this year, Hanoi’s export turnover reached $2.86 billion, a year on year increase of 2.3 per cent, of which the value of exports from local businesses rose by 3 per cent.
The increase can be seen on exports such as garments at 5.2 per cent and computer components and peripheral devices 29.2 per cent.
