On October 17, JW Marriott Hanoi will host a unique exclusive event at its modern and sophisticated French Grill restaurant where diners are allowed to decide themselves how much the food being served is worth during this launching event.

This radical pricing strategy, which has never been seen before in Vietnam, is designed to heighten the appreciation of guests for the quality of the food at the restaurant. It is also a demonstration of the team’s strong belief in the remarkable standard of their culinary offerings.

The event will see diners tuck into the full range of divine menu items available at the French Grill, which includes everything from Maine lobsters to prime cuts of steak from the US and sustainable caviar from the sea of Vietnam. Special menus, which do not list the price of the food, will be created for the event, and guests will write down the price they would like to pay at the end of the meal. Following the meal, the Chef will announce the name of the guest who is willing to pay the highest price for his/her meal, as the reflection of an appreciation for gastronomic arts.

Settling into the comfortable leather seating, guests can also fully embrace the surroundings at the beautiful French Grill. Décor is sophisticated and stylish while touches such as elegant seafood bar, modern lantern-like chandeliers and a private room overlooking the lake adding to the ambience.  The centerpiece of the restaurant, meanwhile, is the lively sound from the largest open kitchen in the capital – the tapping of pots and pans and the undercurrent of conversation between the expert culinary team.

“Having observed Vietnam’s strong culinary culture, the food and beverage team at the new JW Marriott Hanoi Hotel are conscious of the need to provide the very best in food quality, service and value. We believe the Vietnamese consumers are becoming more and more sophisticated in their lifestyle choices, especially when it comes to culinary experiences.” Bob Fabiano, general manager of JW Marriott Hanoi said.

“I believe this is the first time such a bold event has been conceptualised in Vietnam. We have full confidence in the food we serve, both its taste and its presentation and strongly believe that serious gourmets in Vietnam will appreciate the level of care and attention invested in each dish by paying a worthy rate for the offerings,”  he added.

At the French Grill, boundary-pushing chefs work to give guests dishes that they would recommend to their own friends while the excellent staff is trained to international standards. This exclusive event is a reaffirmation of the restaurant’s overall philosophy of offering seriously good food to people who are passionate about gastronomy.
