Flamboyant Island project’s true character is to finally emerge

The second phase of Vietnam’s first artificial island project kicked-off last week. The project started in 2004, shaping up a 60-hectare artificial island on the sea of Haiphong and building the infrastructure on it.
Do Son beach is already a popular for northern region holiday-makers

Daso Group has begun the second phase of the $105 million Flamboyant Island, located near Do Son beach, with a 300 room five-star hotel and 200 villas, a 3-hectare commercial and entertainment zone, which are expected to complete in 2014.

A casino is also on the cards with the developer asking for permission to add 10 more tables.

Dang Ngoc Hoa, chairman of Daso Group, said: “I am very happy that the most difficult work [forming a 60ha flamboyant-shaped artificial island on the sea] was completed. And I am sure that the project will be completed on schedule.”

The Ho Chi Minh City-based group has just signed an agreement with Accor to manage the five-star hotel in the project.

Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam agreed that it would bankroll the construction of the project and lend its customers.

The Flamboyant Island project has 200 villas, however, only 150 units are for sale. There were 30 villas in total 61 units on Poseidon area sold out in the first launch in May and 50 additional villas on Helios area planned to be launched in this September.

Operating in producing and trading chemicals, detergent and milk Daso Group is now the developer of large-scale property projects as the 600ha An Hoa Industrial Park in Thai Binh province, a 450ha Asean ecological tourism area in Ho Chi Minh City.
