The group, also known as EVN, auctioned 40 million shares of An Binh Joint Stock Bank (ABBank), slashing EVN's stake at this bank from 21.27 per cent to 8.67 per cent.

EVN also unloaded all its shares in the An Binh Securities JSC, and cut its stake at EVN Finance JSC from 40 per cent to 15 per cent.

EVN plans to divest from ABBank, as well as complete procedures to organise a public auction of its shares in the Global Joint Stock Corporation, or GIC.

Some major projects, such as the Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Plant, the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Plant or Huoi Quang hydroelectric plant, have basically met the schedule set by EVN.

The country saved 2.6 billion kWh this year, which was equivalent to 2.2 per cent of the commercial power production, EVN said.
