Eurosphere 2017 represents the first major excursion of European enterprises in Vietnam

EU-Vietnam Business Network (EVBN) has officially unveiled Eurosphere—European Art of Living in Vietnam, an event to take place on June 16-17, 2017 at the Gem Centre in Ho Chi Minh City.

Eurosphere will host 80 European brands from the fashion and accessories, gourmet food and beverages, perfumery and cosmetics, interior design, and automotive sectors to showcase their exquisite products and meet with potential local partners.

Eurosphere 2017 is a new concept trade event dedicated to bringing various European quality products to the Vietnamese and Southeast Asian market. It was introduced in the context of the new Free Trade Agreement between the EU and Vietnam (EVFTA), Vietnam being the second country in the ASEAN, after Singapore, to sign such an agreement.

Companies taking part in the event will be the first wave of European brands enjoying the unprecedented benefits of the FTA. Main changes will be the elimination of the import tax within eight years, as well as the introduction of Geographical Indications that will automatically come under protection upon the FTA’s entry into force.

Bruno Angelet, ambassador and head of the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, has expressed strong belief in the success of Eurosphere, creating a great opportunity for the promotion of European products on the Vietnamese market.

Additionally, Delphine Rousselet, director of EVBN, shared that, “European businesses deciding to enter Vietnam at this crucial time will have first-mover advantage in establishing their name in the market. Eurosphere will undoubtedly strengthen and continue to promote the economic bond between Vietnam and the EU trading bloc.”

About 3,500 business visitors, mainly large importers, distributors, retailers, hospitality specialists, interior décor designers, fashion designers, policy makers, industry influencers, media representatives, and VIPs and celebrities will meet at Eurosphere through a series of B2B meetings, conferences with high-profile European speakers, networking events, and a private Gala dinner.

The event will not only focus on the economic partnership between European companies and Vietnam, but will also act as a platform for EVBN regional partners to introduce their respective market opportunities in the ASEAN and follow-up trade missions in each country after Eurosphere.

Eurosphere is supported by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the embassies of European countries to Vietnam, and the Chambers of Commerce of all EU member states as well as ASEAN regional partners.
