Themed "Developing Education 4.0 in line with Vietnamese practice", the event covered a number of activities such as conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking, among others.
The participants included representatives from the state management agencies of education and training, domestic and foreign educational organisations, schools, individuals, groups, organisations, and enterprises that provide solutions for digital transformation in the education sector.
In particular, the EDU4.0 exhibition saw the participation of many leading international and Vietnamese information technology enterprises such as VNPT, Viettel, Aruba, HP, as well as Korean business delegation led by the Korea IT Cooperation Center (KICC).
They showcased the latest trends, technology application solutions, and outstanding educational models in Vietnam and internationally. Especially, attendees met and interacted with Tri Nhan – a new generation of robot with the mission of serving educational purposes, and at the same time discovered the story "I. Robot. I. Human."
In addition, participants had a chance to participate in B2B matchmaking online and onsite completely free of charge.
The conference sessions had many speeches from leaders, experts from reputed organisations, and schools or colleges, universities such as NEU, VinUni, EuroCham, and Austrade, among others. EDU4.0 also attracted leading international technology firms such as AWS, Google, Crestron, and Edtech enterprises from Australia, Finland, and others.
Vu Hoang Lien, president of the Vietnam Internet Association (VIA), said: “Vietnam's education sector is facing many opportunities for digital transformation, especially after recognising the great strides of education from the influence of COVID-19. In addition, the readiness of the infrastructure and the application of IT in Vietnam for online training is also a problem that needs specific solutions.”
Trang Bui, founder of EDU4.0 cum general director of BHub Group stressed, “We believe that the premise of smart education is learners' unlimited access to education. Through large playgrounds like EDU4.0, organisations and individuals have more opportunities to accelerate technology cooperation and application in the digital transformation of the education sector in Vietnam, increasing learning opportunities for everyone while contributing to the successful implementation of the national digital transformation strategy and smart education."
EDU4.0 is the first large-scale event in Vietnam on the digital transformation of the educational sector combined with a school exhibition 4.0, with the participation of many related agencies and departments.
In June 2020, the prime minister of Vietnam issued Decision No.749/QD-TTg approving the national digital transformation program to 2025 with orientation to 2030. Accordingly, education is one of eight areas that should be prioritised for digital transformation.
