Philand Ranch, a wholly-owned subsidiary of America’s Phil Group, last week started construction of the $30 million Bien Rang resort in the Chu Lai Economic Zone.

The central region is rolling out the red carpet for tourism entrepreneurs

The project, also known as Pointe91, covers 23.5 hectares in Tam Hai commune, and will contribute to make the South Hoi An region an attractive tourism destination like Hoi An and Danang. The developer will build a resort and residential community with a 180 room five-star hotel, 30 separate cabanas and 227 homes.

The development will also feature a farmers market, a state-of-the-art executive education centre and a multi-faith worship centre for the local community and visitors.

Henry Fahman, chairman of Phil Group, said while the registered capital for the project was $30 million, it would likely take about $350 million to complete what Philand wanted to accomplish during the 60-month development plan.

“We are currently working with a prominent $3.4 billion Swiss-based emerging market fund and also utilising our Frankfurt Stock Exchange listed company to finance Pointe91 and other projects,” said Fahman.

Pointe91 is the first tourism project starting construction in the zone, which is also home to the $4 billion Genting-VinaCapital integrated resort project.

Urban Arena, which designed the award winning “Home of the Future” for Disney Land, is the architect designer of Pointe91. “Pointe91 will also set itself apart for the promotion of green energy and organic feed policy. We want it to truly be an extraordinary place to live, work and play,” said Fahman.

Fahman is optimistic about the future of Pointe91 as he forecasted the development of 50,000ha Dung Quat Economic Zone to the south of the project would attract many foreign manufacturing projects, a new bridge and a 10-lane expressway connecting Hoi An and the Chu Lai Economic Zone.

In the future, it will be very easy for domestic and foreign travelers to come Pointe91 as the government plans to upgrade Chu Lai airport into an international one with throughput capacity of four million passengers each year.

“While it takes three hours to drive from Ho Chi Minh City to Mui Ne and even more than that from Hanoi to Halong Bay, it only takes seven minutes from Chu Lai airport to Pointe91,” said Fahman.
