C.P. Vietnam Corporation was a prominent participant at the Sustainable Food Forum and the Ceremony Honouring Initiatives and Efforts in Sustainable Food Development, an event dedicated to fostering sustainable transformation within the food industry.
Aligned with the strategic vision outlined in Vietnam's National Action Plan to transform the food system towards transparency, responsibility, and sustainability, the Sustainable Food Forum 2023 was a collaborative effort between the Foodshare sustainable food development network and the Association for Food Transparency.
This prestigious gathering took place in Ho Chi Minh City on October 12, and held significant importance as part of a series of events commemorating the 43rd anniversary of World Food Day.
Le Nhat Thuy, vice president of C.P. Vietnam, delved into the complex food dynamics within Vietnam and across the globe, accentuating the conscientious endeavours undertaken by businesses to combat food wastage and losses while spearheading sustainable agricultural practices.
"C.P. Group's sustainable development is based on the company's philosophy of three benefits, including those for the country, for the people, and for the company," Thuy said.
"Economic development goals always go hand-in-hand with sustainable development, driven by the three main pillars of food security, natural balance, and a self-sufficient society, aiming to eradicate hunger and food waste."
She said that C.P. Vietnam has also set a target of reducing emissions by 2050, implementing net-zero to balance the ecosystem, maintaining biodiversity, and turning waste from the production process into valuable products.
