Two planes carrying 251 passengers from the Russia Far East landed at Cam Ranh airport in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on January 23 – the first day of the lunar New Year festival.

These passengers come from nine provinces of the Far Eastern regions who have booked a tour of Khanh Hoa since October 31, 2011. The tour has so far attracted nearly 17,000 visitors from the Far Eastern regions.

A representative of Anh Duong company which has developed this tour says at present there are 10 such flights to Vietnam every week.

The first three Russia visitors were offered free tourism services at major destinations in Khanh Hoa’s Nha Trang City.

The province received nearly 2.2 million holiday-makers, including 440,000 foreigners, in 2011 and it strives to raise the number of foreign arrivals to 500,000 in 2012.
