The annual BCI Asia Awards ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on May 31 honoured the award winners, whose architecture firms’ portfolios are worth $2.12 billion worth of properties scheduled to start construction in Vietnam this year and the portfolios of these top developers amount to $1.86 billion.
The BCI Asia Top 10 Awards for 2013 in the architecture category were presented to Accademia Italia Co, Aedas Vietnam, Archetype Group, CDC-Vietnam Investment Consulting and Construction Designing, DAC-Vietnam Architectural Design and Consultancy, DP Consulting, HTT GROUP-Ho Thieu Tri Architect & Associates, PTW Vietnam, SWA Vietnam and VNCC-Vietnam National Construction Consultants Corporation.
The awards also went to property developer Becamex IDC, Benthanh Group, Cotec Group, Nam Long Investment Corporation, Novaland, Sacomreal, SSG Group, Thanh Do Investment Development and Construction, Tran Thai Lands, and Viglacera Land.
From 2013, BCI Asia will expand and reposition the meaning of the Top 10 Awards to focus on sustainability. The 2013 winners were identified as ones with the greatest aggregate value of projects under construction during the last full calendar year by the extent of their sustainability and green building ratings.
BCI Asia chairman, Dr. Matthias Krups, said: “I’m really excited that today’s Top Ten awards are the first to take environmental quality into account – welcome to our first “Green” Top Ten Awards. This change will now favour those players that show true leadership not only in shaping the built environment but also in ensuring sustainable development that will benefit future generations.”
Further to the BCI Asia Top 10 Awards, the FuturArc Prize (International Green Design competition) and FuturArc Green Leadership Award (International Awards for Green Built Projects) were also announced and bestowed at the May 31 ceremony.
