The dialogue was held for the Vietnamese and Australian business communities about the development of the Viet Nam economy and opportunities stemming from the Viet Nam – Australia comprehensive partnership.

It attracted hundreds of big enterprises in banking, finance, energy, oil and gas and mineral extraction from both countries.

In an open and sincere atmosphere, PM Dung briefed the participants about developments of the Viet Nam economy from a less-developed nation with a close-door economy to a middle-income country with a dynamic integrated economy.

The Vietnamese Government will continue improving and operating smoothly the market economy and encourage competitiveness in an equal, open and transparent manner among local and international businesses in Viet Nam as committed in international integration, PM Dung stressed.

Viet Nam is focusing on improving the market economy, investing in the infrastructure and training human resources, particularly high-quality human resources, in order to facilitate investment attraction and business development, the Government leader added.

PM Dung answered numerous questions about prospects and opportunities to realize practically the comprehensive partnership, particularly enhance cooperation in such fields of competitive advantage as mineral extraction, energy, chemistry, agriculture, finance, banking, education and high-quality services.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government supports Australian businesses to take part in restructuring the Viet Nam economy, particularly in energy, telecommunications infrastructure, education and training, sustainable agriculture and finance.

PM Dung also received several leading Australian businessmen in telecommunications, information services, mining, banking, energy, oil and gas.

He is currently on an official visit to Australia.
