Viet Nam has repeatedly claimed its indisputable sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands, said Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Le Hai Binh.
Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Le Hai Binh.

The Spokesman made the point on September 23 in response to reporters’ inquiry about the publication of a plan for main functional areas of China’s oceans by the Chinese State Council.

According to Mr. Binh, all activities of foreign sides in the waters without Viet Nam’s permission violate international law, infringe upon Viet Nam’s sovereignty and are valueless.

“Viet Nam resolutely opposes the action; demands China to respect Viet Nam’s sovereignty, annul the wrongdoing, and practically contribute to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the maintenance of peace and stability in the East Sea.
