Vietnam to issue ‘e-visas’ for foreign visitors in 2017
Vietnam plans to begin issuing electronic visas for foreign visitors on a trial basis by January of 2017, according to an announcement by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

Speaking at a press conference on November 4, the Agency’s General Director Nguyen Van Tuan said the expedited visa process will reduce to three days the time it takes for foreign visitors to obtain a 30 day visa.
The requirements for a letter of guarantee or invitation as required for regular visas will be waived for foreign visitors of countries that participate in the ‘e-visa’ program, said Mr Tuan.
