On May 5, VNRA leaders confirmed with Tien Phong newspaper that they had suspended director of VNRA’s Project Management Unit Tran Van Luc.

Luc’s suspension came on the back of his suspected involvement into the JTC bribery case during the period he acted as director of VRC’s Railway Project Management Unit.

In an interview with Tien Phong newspaper, also on May 5, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Hong Truong would not confirm the arrest of the officials.

“The police held independent investigations and have yet to officially inform us about the case. We will inform the media once we have news,” he said.
