Vietnam M&A Forum provides perfect networking platform

Today’s Vietnam M&A Forum 2016 has provided participants a chance to extend their professional networks and seek strategic partners.

Within the forum’s framework, the business-matching event has attracted about 50 participants, including foreign investors, Vietnamese corporations, and professional advisors.

The Vietnam M&A Forum is a well-known annual event in the business community as well as domestic and international investors, which has been co-organised by VIR and AVM Vietnam since 2009 under the patronage of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).

According to Le Trong Minh, editor-in-chief of VIR and head of the event's Organising Committee, this year’s business-matching has attracted the highest-ever number of participants from various fields like property, retail, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

“We hope that the business-matching will underscore further collaborations of over the 100 consultancy companies and investors at the Vietnam M&A Forum 2016,” he said.

On the same note, Do Manh Binh, director of planning division at PV Oil, told VIR that the M&A forum is an ideal platform for PV Oil to seek strategic partners for its upcoming initial public offering. The matching gives PV Oil the opportunity to introduce its equitisation plan to various potential consultancy companies and investors, like VinaCapital and Dragon Capital.

Peter Sorensen, managing director of Asian Business Builders M&A and Merchant Banking, said that, “A number of companies see it as a sign of weakness to go out and start talking to strategic investors. Vietnam M&A Forum 2016 is a great event for domestic firms to openly talk about M&A as well as have fruitful discussions with advisors and consultants. We hope Vietnam M&A Forum 2016 will contribute to the development of Vietnam’s M&A scene in the near future.”
