Vietnam International Trade Fair (Vietnam Expo), organised annually by Vinexad under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency over the last two decades, is recognised as the most effective trade promotion event as it brings about a lot of values for organisations, enterprises and individuals both in Vietnam and overseas.
This year, the event will take place from April 13-16 at the International Exhibition Centre (ICE) at 91 Tran Hung Dao Street in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem district.
Vietnam Expo 2016 is expected to welcome businesses whose brands are awarded Vietnam Value – the symbol of prestige, quality, and representative for Vietnam brands in the domestic market as well as brand development in the international market.
Among the exhibitors are the Vietnam Electrical Equipment Joint Stock Corporation (GELEX), Tran Phu Electrical Mechanical JSC, Binh Minh Plastics JSC, Duy Tan Plastics JSC, Tan A Dai Thanh Group, Habeco and Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro), just to name a few.
One of the highlights of this year event is that Tan A Dai Thanh Group will become the programme’s main sponsor.
With 23-year experience in manufacturing metal products such as water tanks, hot solar water heaters, hot water heaters, pumps, Stroman pipes and others, the group is gradually perfecting the total solution for water sources supply to Vietnamese families.
As one of 63 Vietnam Value recipients and having honoured the Second Class Labour Medal by Vietnam’s State President along with many other reputable prizes, Tan A Dai Thanh has become a Vietnamese prestigious and world-class brand.
With a view to supporting both domestic and foreign enterprises to learn about business connecting tools, consult on investment policies and enhance design competence for companies and products, Vietnam Expo 2016 will be a useful destination meeting all of requirements above through pavilions.
Accordingly, the Vietnam Industry Investment and Development Pavilion- organised by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency- will feature impressive designs as well as displaying and introducing representative industrial parks of diverse provinces/cities of Vietnam, direct onsite presentations and investment policy consultancy.
The Vietnam – Korea Product Development and Design Support Pavilion, organised in the framework of Vietnam – Korea Design Sharing Project, aims to enhance design competence of Vietnam enterprises to raise product competitiveness, with support from Korea Institute of Design Promotion.
Of the international pavilions, the Republic of Belarus will serve as the Honoured Country at VIETNAM EXPO 2016. In 2015, Vietnam had signed a free trade agreement with Eurasian Economic Union, of which Belarus is one of five members, paving the way for new steps in development in various sectors ranging from economy, commerce to investment among members.
Attending Vietnam Expo 2016, enterprises of the Republic of Belarus will contribute to the reinforcement and comprehensive development of relations between the two countries and promote bilateral cooperation in terms of science and technology, defense, education, health, culture, sports and tourism.
In 2015, Vietnam exported many items such as seafood, furniture, textiles, footwear, rice, natural rubber, cashew nuts, peanuts, pepper, spices, tea, canned vegetables, pharmaceuticals, and computers to Belarus. It imported from this country fertilisers, machinery, equipments, components and spares parts of cars, tractors, trucks, and chemicals etc.
Notably, 2016 is considered a pivotal year as Vietnam has taken actions to deepen international integration through taking part in ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and signing a raft of trade agreements such as FTA-EU, FTA-Korea, and TPP.
At Vietnam Expo 2016, domestic enterprises have numerous opportunities to promote their products and services, increase networking with foreign partners, in parallel to expanding and deepening their footprints in the domestic market.
At the same time, the foreign participants can access a huge number of Vietnamese enterprises in order to explore the market, discuss investment cooperation and technology transfer opportunities to promote export growth as well as boosting foreign investment into Vietnam.
According to Vietnam Expo 2016 Organising Board, the fair will attract 450 exhibitors from 20 countries and territories, and consist of 520 booths to fully cover the Hanoi International Exhibition Centre (ICE). The Organiser has received the applications to participate from many foreign delegations such as the Republic of Korea, Uganda, Czech Republic, Sri Lanka, Japan, Singapore, and South Africa.
Last year, the event attracted 600 enterprises from 28 countries and territories; and consisted of 720 booths. Particularly, there were seven national booths belonging to Algeria, Cuba, The Republic of Czech, South Korea, Nepal, China and Vietnam; eight Vietnam Value enterprises and 10 trade promotion centres from provinces/ cities joined the event.
According to South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Jun Dae Joo, South Korea attended the fair as the honoured country in last year event together with 81 enterprises operating in diverse fields as food, beverage, consumers, cosmetics, and medical equipment. The fair brought considerable opportunities to increase cooperation between both countries’ businesses.
Radomil Dolezal, director of the Trade Promotion Agency of The Republic of Czech said that Vietnam Expo provides the opportunity to introduce the Republic of Czech as a strong and reliable trade partner with innovative and high quality products.
