The forum draws 250 political leaders and heads of international organisations |
The forum, themed "Reshaping the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business", sets the key priorities and challenges for the international community to tackle in the New Year.
During the four-day event, the Vietnamese delegation will participate in official meetings, bilateral exchanges and dialogue with foreign businesses interested in Vietnam.
Deputy PM Minh will be the speaker at a January 24 session on “Reshaping ASEAN: Conference for East Asia Growth”.
WEF 2014 takes place with the world’s economy experiencing a gradual recovery from the third quarter of 2013 and impressive growth in the Eurozone. However, the global economy has also met with several challenges such as the pressure of increasing inflation and the high rate of unemployment, while many countries are seeking new growth models.
At the event, 250 political leaders and heads of international organisations will meet businesses to discuss how to effectively manage global businesses.
The forum will also explore political and societal changes worldwide, while deliberating on issues related to private commerce and national, regional and international-level investment.
The WEF is an independent international organisation committed to improving the state of the world by engaging businesses, politicians, academics and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industrial agendas. Incorporated as a not-for-profit foundation in 1971, and with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, the forum is tied to no political, partisan or national interests.
The organisation is best known for its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. It also convenes some regional meetings every year in locations such as Latin America and East Asia, as well as undertaking two further annual meetings in China and the United Arab Emirates.
