TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022 promotes startup ecosystem

Becamex IDC cooperated with Binh Duong People's Committee and the Ministry of Science and Technology to organise "TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022" on December 2-4, summarising a series of impressive events for National Innovative Entrepreneurship Day 2022.

The series of seminars aims to bring businesses insightful views of innovation and 4.0 technology applied in production with leading experts in the region

The programme was presented by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, Chairman of Binh Duong People's Committee Vo Van Minh, chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC Nguyen Van Hung, and representatives and leaders of cities and provinces, universities, research institutes, and experts from domestic and international enterprises.

A signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation Development with Becamex IDC on developing an innovative startup ecosystem and supporting industrial digital transformation was also held.

Becamex IDC, on behalf of Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP), the Eastern International University, the Singapore Polytechnic, and the Industry 4.0 Alliance, will establish an Innovation Centre 4.0, connect businesses and the innovation ecosystem, and create a driving force to improve the ecosystem in Binh Duong and across the country.

On December 2, Becamex IDC, VSIP and the Eastern International University, in collaboration with strategic partners the National University of Singapore and Singapore Polytechnic, Block71 Saigon, organised the Binh Duong Festival of Innovation Festival within the framework of the conference.

With a nationwide network of industrial parks, Becamex IDC and VSIP are building a new-generation industrial ecosystem to accompany businesses in their journey to upgrade management, technology, and people. The seminars aim to bring businesses insightful views of innovation and 4.0 technology applied in production with leading experts in the region.

Binh Duong with the support of Becamex IDC and its partners, is determined to invest seriously in science and technology, create motivation for developing its economy, move towards becoming a Smart City, and contribute to improving Vietnam's competitiveness as a production centre of Asia.

The national innovation startup support network has more than 400 members, approaching more than 1,000 scientists, experts, and other people interested in startups from universities, research institutes, and domestic and foreign organisations. Established in 2015, the annual seminar TECHFEST VIETNAM is the largest event of its type in the country.

In the context of the pandemic, the need to connect and promote the development of the innovative startup community is becoming more urgent. This year's TECHFEST attracted more than 8,000 guests from startup communities from 63 provinces and cities nationwide and 20 countries.

At the same time, local-level innovative startup support networks were also launched in Son La, Lai Chau, Can Tho and at regional levels such as the Mekong Delta and the south central coastal regions.

Binh Duong aims to become a bright spot in the Southern Key Economic Zone, and has been implementing important strategies in the province's socioeconomic development. It focuses on building and completing the innovation ecosystem, attracting and building high-quality human resources, and promoting digital transformation, aiming to overcome the middle-income trap and achieve GDP per capita of $14,500 by 2030.

With the active and pioneering contribution of Becamex IDC Corporation, Binh Duong has built modern and synchronous infrastructure, especially in Binh Duong New City area, meeting international standards to host many world-class events.

The theme "Industry 4.0 - Innovation" at TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022 positioned Binh Duong as one of the pioneering cities and provinces promoting innovation and entrepreneurship through related ecosystems, setting up science and technology industrial parks, and enhancing business connections.

The event has encouraged businesses in Binh Duong to approach and interact with the country's and region's dynamic startup ecosystem to promote innovation, digital transformation, and technology application.

With the theme "Open Innovation - Opening New Thinking", TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022 three-day event aimed to seek solutions in line with the development trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially in areas affected by the COVID pandemic, such as healthcare, education and energy.
