Best golfers awarded at Swing for the Kids 2024

The Swing for the Kids 2024 charity golf tournament has raised almost $100,000 from donors and 243 golfers.

On October 12, the Gala awarding and honouring the best golfers of the 17th annual charity golf tournament Swing for the Kids 2024 took place after the competition was held on the Kings Course and Mountain View in Kings Island Golf Resort in Hanoi’s Son Tay district.

The Swing for the Kids 2024 charity golf tournament raised VND2.3 billion ($94,000) from donors and 243 golfers from domestic and international diplomatic agencies, and organisations, and many businessmen across the country.

At the awards ceremony, Le Trong Minh, VIR’s editor-in-chief said, “All the budget this year and the surplus from previous years will be delivered as annual scholarships to disadvantaged students across the country, as well as contributing to fixing, and building schools in areas affected by Typhoon Yagi.”

Vo Hong Phuc, former Minister of Planning and Investment said, “Operating a golf tournament for 17 years is a great success. This is contributed significantly by sponsors and golfers, who have taken care of promoting education in Vietnam.”

The best golfers of Swing for the Kids 2024

Swing for the Kids is sponsored by BRG Group, SeABank as co-organisers; Samsung Electronics Vietnam as a diamond sponsor; and Vingroup as platinum sponsor. While KinderWorld and Petrovietnam are gold sponsors, and Vietnam Beverage, VINAMIKA Vietnam, and EveryGolf are silver.

Vinfast is the Hole in One (HIO) sponsor this year, bringing two VF9 (eco) cars worth VND1.59 billion ($65,000) per unit to the Kings Course and Mountain View Course.

Golf Group also sponsored the HIO prize with a Kenichi Luxury six-star club set worth $13,300 and an Okon Golf 3D golf room installation voucher worth $8,100. GolfBeer sponsors the HIO, that applies to all Par 3 holes on both courses, with a year of free beer for golfers worth $1,300.

The tournament was also supported by other brands like SaigonSocks, MIPA Golf, Cigars 1987, Ocany mineral water, and Thach Co Tra.

After a morning of competition among golfers, the tournament awarded champion and others excellent prizes. The best performance prizes were awarded to Nguyen Trong Tien on the Kings Course, and Mai Quoc Hoi on the Mountain View. But no one won the HIO prize.

At the ceremony, the organiser honoured individuals who have contributed to the annual charity golf tournament for Vietnamese children, Swing for the Kids over 17 years. They gave birth and founded the tournament, and provided countless support for the tournament.
