Leaders send condolences to Malaysia over MH17 tragedy

President Truong Tan Sang yesterday sent a condolence message to Malaysian King Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah over the crash of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, also offered their sympathies to their Malaysian counterparts Najib Tun Razak and Anifa Hj Aman, respectively.

PM Dung also sent his condolences to Prime Minister Park Rutte of the Netherlands, which had the largest number of passengers killed in the mishap.

The same day, answering questions by reporters related to the incident, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Hai Binh said Viet Nam was extremely saddened by the tragedy.

"We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Governments and people of the countries whose citizens were killed in the accident as well as families of the victims," he said.
