The Series B funding round was led by Asia Business Builders (ABB), with participation from DTP Education Group (DTP) and Kyna English’s co-founder and CEO, Ho Hong Bao Tram. KPMG acted as the exclusive merger and acquisition advisor.

“ABB’s investment in Kyna English reflects our strong commitment to advancing high-quality, accessible education for the people of Vietnam and, more broadly, Southeast Asia,” said Do Lan Anh, partner at ABB.

Previously, Kyna English had received investments from Heliconia Capital Management, Simple Technology Investment, SEAF Women's Opportunity Fund (SWOF), and Cyberagent Capital.

With the new investment, Ho Hong Bao Tram, CEO of Kyna English, shared, “Kyna English will continue to innovate its online personalised tutoring platform by integrating advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning to personalise students’ learning experiences. This differentiates Kyna English in the competitive market and provides a flexible, effective, and affordable English learning solution to millions of users globally.”

Kyna English introduced Kyna AI Tutor last year, enabling learners to study, interact, and practice speaking skills with AI through various formats following their online classes with teachers. Kyna AI Tutor delivers a highly personalised learning environment, offering customised lesson plans and detailed feedback on pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and overall English proficiency.

The company will also partner with DTP to leverage its network, digital content library, and teaching resources to develop new courses and implement expansion strategies.

In addition to strengthening its position in Vietnam, Kyna English will use this funding to expand its operations into Thailand, Indonesia, and Laos, while exploring new opportunities across Asia, where demand for English learning continues to rise rapidly.

Launched in 2020, Kyna English marked a new chapter following its parent company’s transfer of skills training platforms (Kyna.vn and Kynabiz.vn) to Navigos Group. Kyna English offers one-on-one online English solutions with the goal of providing personalised and effective courses to learners of all ages, including those in smaller cities and towns.

With its engaging curriculum and cutting-edge technology, Kyna English has emerged as a leader in the online education sector. The company currently serves over 150,000 learners ranging from K12 students to adults, professionals, and large corporate clients including PepsiCo and DKSH.

Kyna English holds more than 15,000 classes daily and partners with 8000+ tutors worldwide while expanding its operations into countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Laos. The cumulative number of one-on-one classes conducted by Kyna English has impressively reached 10 million to date.

Kyna English leverages AI technology to deliver tailored learning experiences, enabling learners to progress at their own pace and according to their unique needs.
