People are not allowed to go out in the evening from 6pm to 6am the next morning

From July 26, people are not allowed to leave their homes after 6pm, save for emergency situations. All activities in the city have been temporarily suspended, except for emergencies and at the request of coordinating bodies to prevent epidemics.

For organisations and individuals who intentionally break the curfew, the competent authorities shall promptly investigate the case and initiate criminal proceedings if sufficient elements constitute a crime.

The city will strictly penalise heads of agencies, units, and localities if there is an attitude of indifference, loose leadership and management, allowing the pandemic to spread.

While the pandemic is growing unpredictable, Ho Chi Minh City is looking to strengthen social distancing measures and address loose management and control in all areas to clamp down on community infections.

Nguyen Thanh Phong, chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said that despite its best efforts, the city failed to achieve the best of three pandemic scenarios outlined earlier, and had to implement the second scenario. Now, reinforced social distancing measures are rolled out under the third scenario.
