Addressing the event, PM Dung highly valued the new route which will play an important role in the industrialization and modernization process of the three localities it runs through.
The Government chief requested the Ministry of Transport and construction units to speed up the progress of the project.
The construction of the highway began in November 2009 with an investment of over VND 10 trillion (US$ 470 million) sourced from Japanese official development assistance (ODA) and State budget.
The 64km route has four lanes and runs through Ha Noi (23.8 kilometers), Bac Ninh (8.2 kilometers) and Thai Nguyen (31.8 kilometers).
The route is one of the seven highways leading to the capital city, which is expected to reduce traffic jams, boost trade exchanges between Ha Noi and neighboring provinces and lure more investment to the northern provinces.
