The Deputy PM asked the province to cooperate with ministries, agencies and localities in launching the Lang Son-Ha Noi-Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai (Tay Ninh) economic corridor development plan, ratified by the PM.

The economic corridor is meaningful to Viet Nam in connecting its economy with others in ASEAN, creating a joint development force for the nation, Deputy PM Minh asserted.

By 2020, the corridor’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will reach around US$200-220 billion, accounting for 70% of the nation’s GDP and attract 9-9.5 million foreign visitors and 40-41 million domestic travelers, earning a revenue of US$15-16 billion.

He assigned relevant ministries and agencies to support Tay Ninh Province to advertise its potential and promote border trade.

In the first quarter of 2015, the province’s economic growth rate reached 9.4%, its export turnover expanded 19.2%, and its foreign investment attraction hit more than US$800 million.
