The agreement aims to strengthen the partnership between the two parties in their efforts to promote zero-energy buildings in Vietnam. This collaboration is built upon the successful cooperation of both parties in the ZEBHub project, which aims to promote energy-efficient buildings in Vietnam.
Specifically, in phase 1, the project supported the Horison Tower (in Hanoi) in assessing its current energy usage and developing an energy efficiency action plan with 35 solutions, including three no-cost solutions. In the next phase, the project team aims to promote and support the implementation of energy efficiency solutions and comfort quality improvement measures for the pilot building, thereby creating competitive advantages for Horison.
Faced with challenges such as rising electricity prices, increasing service quality demands from users, and compliance with environmental regulations, buildings are required to further enhance their energy efficiency, thus contributing to reducing environmental and climate impacts. Therefore, the collaboration between the two units within the ZEBHub Project will significantly contribute to efforts toward best practices in energy-efficient and zero-energy buildings in Vietnam.
Tran Thi Thu Phuong, general director of VSSE shared her vision and focus for the current collaboration. “VSSE hopes to continue establishing a partnership with CBRE Vietnam in the ZEBHub Project over the next two years, focusing on three main areas: (i) Building and developing an online training platform to enhance capacity on energy efficiency in construction, design, and operation; (ii) Implementing an assessment and consulting programme for pilot buildings during the design and operation phases; (iii) Launching communication campaigns and producing multimedia communication products.”
Jonathan Flexer, associate director of CBRE Vietnam, stated, “As the head of the ESG team at CBRE Vietnam, I want to express our excitement in working with the VSSE, the EEN-Vietnam, and specifically the ZEBHub Project. CBRE has previously collaborated with the EEB2023 project, witnessing success in enhancing skills for our colleagues as well as sharing knowledge within a broader community.”
The ZEBHub Project is an initiative of EEN-Vietnam managed by VSSE, with the main objective of promoting high-quality human resources for the energy transition towards zero energy and enhancing the application of measures to improve energy efficiency related to the design, construction, and operation phases of commercial buildings in Vietnam.
VSSE is a social enterprise that promotes cooperation to address community challenges and contribute to building an inclusive and environmentally friendly society, while EEN-Vietnam established by VSSE in 2017 promotes sustainable energy goals in Vietnam by developing best practice projects, and enhancing capacity.
