Bac Kan is promoting tourism |
At the event on April 1, Nguyen Dang Binh, Chairman of Bac Kan People's Committee explained the purpose of the programme and expressed his desire to look for partners by saying, "If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together."
In the presence of hundreds of business representatives, Binh admitted that although the area provides huge possibilities, it does not currently have the infrastructure to maximise its potential. Neither domestic nor foreign tourists pay much attention to the destination due to a lack of strategic development.
“Bac Kan is focused on tourism, but compared to other provinces in the region, it is still facing many difficulties. We are calling for investors from all over the country to partner with," said Binh.
Bac Kan People's Committee has invited a number of investors, including Sun Group JSC, FLC Group JSC, and Onsen Fuji Travel Service JSC, to look into possible eco-tourism and resort projects.
However, Bac Kan still hopes to attract more investors to jointly develop the area in the near future.
The province has already participated in many tourism cooperation programmes with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and the Viet Bac heritage region.
Recognising these efforts, Ha Van Sieu, deputy general director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism believes that Bac Kan will learn vital lessons from other localities and have many opportunities to become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Vietnam.
"The successful development of specific products will make Bac Kan more attractive to tourists and investors," said Sieu.
At the conference, businesses that are already implementing tourism projects and those that are looking for investment opportunities were able to have frank dialogues with provincial leaders about the development route for the future.
About 160km north of Hanoi, Bac Kan has many scenic locations, historical relics, and unique cultural identities. Among them is Ba Be Lake, which has been recognised as one of the 20 most beautiful natural freshwater lakes in the world.
