Around 500 delegates will take part in the third Vietnam Information and Communications and Technology Summit in Hanoi on June 20.

The annual event, to be organised by the Vietnam Software Association (VINASA), will provide a forum for managers and businesses to identify development trends, share visions, and develop future development strategies.

They will seek solutions to develop ICT into a foundation for new development modes, contributing to improving the competitive capacity of businesses, agencies and localities.

Vietnam ICT Summit 2013 will focus on four main themes: national information technology infrastructure – problems and solutions, ICT – institutional reform and improvement of macro competitive capacity, and ICT’s role in raising the business competitive capacity and tertiary education reform.

VINASA President Truong Gia Binh said this year’s forum aims to renovate thinking, raise public awareness of the importance of ICT towards intellectual society, enhance national competitiveness and contribute to rapid and sustainable growth.

ICT application must be compulsory in all areas of society, especially in administration reform, transport, health care, education an urban development. This is the shortest way for Vietnam to catch up with developed countries, Binh said.
